I really love this video. For me and where I fit in the rock music landscape, I feel right at home bouncing around this big sonic trampoline called MY GENERATION by one of the best bands of all fukn time, The Who bitches!
We had a pretty good time at our first time hosting Acoustic Lounge live online together. Despite the LAKERS game, we still had an attentive, tiny audience at Amsterdam Cafe and 90+ viewers between our Players and the Ustream community. The picture is nothing particularly special (need lights, we’re learning) but the audio certainly is. So for those that tuned in to the strange MICKEY MOUSE audio problem, have a listen between the chatter to hear what you should have heard! Oh, and leave a comment if the spirit moves you.
A big shout out to our talented, young guest Fiona Grey. She did a great job premiering a couple of her new songs. Look for similarly bad looking video with Fiona on the Acoustic Lounge website, ha!
Anyone with too much money on their hands can feel free to donate a good camera to our little arts-oriented .ORGy, LOL!
We had major issues with the streaming (as can happen) but we were there and we rocked. Lots of new, original musical moments that will never ever happen again. Many were recorded. Here’s a great example of that called North vs. South. A song inspired by the jam at the end of Lynard Skynard’s “Free Bird”.
We’ve gotten well in to the swing of things with Nolan. That’s measurable by how many sweet original jams are oozing out of us when we meet. Like this one, “WHAT WE WANT.”
Our working in our new Bassist Nolan continues. This time at home in the living room. We happened to be all together anyway, seeing as we’d been bumped from a gig meant to happen in Long Beach at the Towncenter. They axed us because we have a drum set. Yeah, you heard it right. A band (a rock band playing unplugged at that) with a drum set! What’s the music world coming to? Okay, enough sarcasm.
All this has got me to thinking, LOOK OUT! I wonder how many other basically fine acts have not been able to play there for ridiculous reasons? No, better said, I wonder how many hundreds of people have missed out on a lot of fine acts whose drummer happens to play a drum set on stage? LOL!
Anyhoo, I won’t name the lame production but here’s a little of what they rejected. Go figure…
